To become a PMI® Certified OPM3 Assessor or Consultant, you must first pass the Entrance Assessment.

It ensures that you have the necessary knowledge of the OPM3 Standard and project management assessment as well as business consulting experience to begin the certification process. It consists of an online, computer-based Entrance Examination on the OPM3 Standard and an Experience Requirement Screening of an experience profile or résumé.

The Assessor course
The three-day Assessor Course covers all elements of assessing an organisation using the Assessment Tool. The course includes a custom-developed methodology for assessing an organisation’s project programme and portfolio management maturity. The methodology is available to all certified OPM3 Assessors.

The Consultant Course follows the Assessor Course.

The Consultant course
The two-day Consultant course focuses on the use of the Improvement Tool to mine data from the Assessment Database and on how to initiate improvement processes within organisations. The course includes a custom-developed methodology for improving an organisation’s project programme and porfolio management maturity, and is used by all certified OPM3 Consultants.
