DNV+Climate+Change+Academy+and+Network

The considerable shortage of competence and competent people has become one of the major challenges for the carbon market and its players. A strategic response to the competence challenge is necessary to prevent the industry from undermining itself and lose credibility with regulators and investors. It is also vital in order to be able to capitalise on growth opportunities.

Purpose

The road map for addressing the challenge posed by climate change requires an immense application of technology, capital and competence in order to succeed. Companies and institutions aiming to make a difference and to position themselves in the carbon market are struggling to find, develop and retain the competence and knowledge they need to implement their strategies. DNV sees the competence challenge as a key barrier in the effort to limit climate change and believes this should be addressed on a strategic level by key players in the industry. To respond to the competence challenge, DNV is launching the idea of a Climate Change Academy and Network.

Benefits

The DNV Climate Change Academy and Network is a unique and exclusive concept created to build knowledge and competence for leading players in the carbon market. By bringing together key stakeholders, we can build and share knowledge and identify common challenges and opportunities. Together we will create competencies, insights and relationships that enable the development of practical and shared solutions and considered responses to the carbon challenges.

Three competence levels

The DNV Climate Change Academy and Network focuses on three different types of competence levels:

Academy
The DNV Climate Change Academy is based on building the fundamental technical and operational skills necessary to run your business.

Our Climate Change Master Classes are designed to give the participants a broad and deep insight into the carbon markets, trends, tools and the knowledge necessary to reduce the environmental footprints of the company and identify business opportunities.

We also offer a broad range of individual courses and seminars.

By partnering with other leading companies DNV will deliver business critical competence that reflects the carbon markets current needs. The focus is on creating direct business value by ensuring quality of the highest standard.

An integral part of the Climate Change Academy is the Carbon Professional Qualification scheme for qualification of climate change experts. The scheme consists of three levels. Once a carbon professional has completed all the levels, he or she will be highly competent in key strategic operational and technical aspects of the carbon market.

By joining the Academy you support growth and profitability, enable productivity and innovation, ensure quality and professionalism and can attract and retain top talent.

Network
In DNV we know that collaboration through a strong professional network enables us, as individuals and companies, to achieve our goals more effectively and efficiently. There is a mutual strategic benefit for executives in the carbon industry to exchange insights and potentially create common responses to challenges in the carbon industry. This is the foundation for the Climate Change Network and Roundtable.

The Climate Change Network will be a closed professional network for CxOs in the carbon industry, membership is by invitation only. DNV aims to enable a business driven network, focusing on creating business and professional opportunities for its members through CxO exclusive events, exclusive network events and community infrastructure.

As a Climate Change network member you have the possibility to learn from other members with different competencies and experiences. You can also grow new partnerships that lead to better solutions.

Roundtable
The carbon industry will most likely continue its fast paced development over the next decades. As a senior executive in charge of responding to this dynamic situation it is critical to develop a strategic and practical insight into the future development of the industry. The Climate Change Roundtable will facilitate an exclusive carbon network where network members, key thinkers and practioners can come together and discuss issues and trends that will shape the perimeters and dynamics of the industry.
