Feedback from the workshop was overwhelmingly positive shows the need for such knowledge and services in the market in Middle East as product compliance is becoming more and more important.

“DNV as a Notified Body for CE-marking of Mechanical equipment, Electrical devices, Medical equipment, and many other directives, can provide the organizations with variety of different services to help them to go into European borders or comply with high level of safety standards within their own market using the European model” says Torger Baardseth, Manager for DNV Business Assurance, Middle East.

The Middle East market
“Product Compliance services play an important role here. These mostly oil driven economies of the Middle East are looking into business prospectives that will depend less on oil, for the years to come,” says Shahram G. Maralani, Marketing and Sales Manager for DNV Business Assurance, Middle East.
For the more than 25 countries (with a population as large as Europe) Processing and manufacturing activities are increasing. The Middle East is moving from an only crude producer to a finished products manufacturer as well. At the same time International companies are investing in the region through joint ventures and partnerships. This means more conformity with International and European requirements as a trend in the decades to come.

“It is important for DNV Business Assurance to support our customers with product compliance / certification services to help them prosper with bringing ‘Safe Products’ to the market which enables the society for a ‘Safe and Sustainable future.” concludes Shahram G. Maralani.

About CE Marking
Product Certification is a conformity assessment in accordance to specific requirements. EU Directives define mandatory requirements for products to be sold and exported into Europe which result in the obtainment of a CE mark on the product. The CE Marking system is the world’s biggest product compliance scheme as it applies to a European market with a population of over 500 million persons.
