The new office located in the Al Mushrif area employs over 40 staff who deliver specialised risk management services for over 50 customers in the energy industry in the Middle East.
Remi Eriksen, COO of DNV Energy said the DNV group, with 2008 worldwide revenues totalling US$ 1.367 million, is offering advanced cross-disciplinary services in response to growing customer needs worldwide.
“The need to manage technical, societal and business risks is more urgent than ever, also here in the Middle East. Indeed, there is huge potential for business here, most notably in the highly promising upstream, LNG and refining industries,” said Mr Eriksen, opening the new office with Jeffrey Lim, DNV Energy’s area manager for the Middle East.
“We are confident that we have the necessary manpower and expertise available to serve the energy industry, especially when it comes to life time extension, asset integrity management, technology qualification, and enterprise risk management,” said Mr Lim. “Our focus is on developing a customer focused business, capitalising on DNV’s capability to use multi-disciplinary competencies to develop value-adding solutions for our customers.”
DNV has 232 employees in the Middle East, spread over a network of 11 offices in eight countries, and supplies a full range of technical and consultancy-related services in multiple fields. It set up its first office in the United Arab Emirates 32 years ago.
