The President and CEO is responsible for the day-to-day management of the organisation. He is not a member of the Board, but attends all board meetings.

The Executive Board
The Executive Board is the President and CEO's management team, dealing with strategic issues, budgeting and planning. The President and CEO has regular business review meetings with the Chief Operating Officers (COO), who are members of the Executive Board.

DNV's business areas
The business is divided into four distinct business areas:

The four COOs are responsible for the operations of their individual business areas and report to the President and CEO.

Senior Management Group
Once a year senior managers take part in a Senior Management Group meeting. Corporate issues related to strategy and leadership are on the agenda. In addition the managers have on these occasions the opportunity to build personal relationships across business areas and geographical borders.

Country Chair
In addition to the regional managers, a number of Country Chairs have been appointed. They act as the President and CEO’s local representatives across business areas within a geographical area. Each Country Chair is responsible for coordinating administrative functions and ensuring that synergy effects are exploited for the benefit of DNV as a whole.
